CRUISE (2022)

A weird, yet simple premise, is a wonderful thing in a short film. You’re introduced to a bizarre situation, but you grasp it fairly quickly and thus are able to enjoy the rest. That’s the case with writer/director Sam Rudykoff’s 2022 short, CRUISE. In a little over six minutes, viewers will figure out what’s happening but still have plenty of room for delight and surprise. It’s extremely well done, which is why it played a great number of film festivals and picked up awards at a bunch of them.

The synopsis reads:

We've all received scam phone calls, but what about the person making the calls? Cruise is a dark workplace satire about a hapless telemarketer trying mightily to give away a free cruise. And if he fails, there will be dire consequences.

Enjoy!
