THE MOUNTAIN, THE MOON CAVE AND THE SAD GOD (2026)

Gorillaz are back…in cartoon form…still!

Directed by Jamie Hewlett, Tim McCourt, and Max Taylor, the animated supergroup is back with their own weird adventures in a great short film that is dazzling visually and aurally in under nine minutes.

The short incorporates the songs “The Mountain” (which features Dennis Hopper, Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash), “The Moon Cave”(which features Asha Puthli, Bobby Womack, Dave Jolicoeur, Jalen Ngonda, and Black Thought), and “The Sad God” (which features Black Thought, Ajay Prasanna, and Anoushka Shankar) and finds the intrepid band exploring a mystical area secluded from the world.

Of course this is all in anticipation of Gorillaz new album, The Mountain, available now.
