A collaboration between Lauren Tsai and My Chemical Romance, PRELUDE TO THE END is an astonishing feat of animation that is based on the band’s song “The End” and Tsai’s short film THE DYING WORLD. It was made in celebration of the 20th anniversary of My Chemical Romance’s album The Black Parade, which was just reissued as well. It’s an incredibly impressive bit of filmmaking that utilizes multiple mediums to emotionally impact viewers.
PRELUDE TO THE END stars the voices of Tsai, John C. McGinley, Billie Eilish, Phoebe Bridgers, and Hideo Kojima.
