Afternoon Delights: QUILT FEVER (2020)

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

QUILT FEVER from director Olivia Loomis Merrion is a joyous documentary that explores the microcosm of quilting with its banner event that happens every year in Paducah, Kentucky. This funny, sweet affair feels like it is primed to be turned into a mockumentary in the style of Christopher Guest.

Summary: Every year, thousands of quilters descend upon Paducah, Kentucky for its annual quilt competition, doubling the town's population. "The Academy Awards of quilting" is a weeklong spectacle in which quilters from all over the world vie for the coveted Best of Show award. Beyond the competition, the film weaves through stories of individual quilters to reveal deeper motivations behind the art.
