SUPER SHARK Music Video

I legitimately have no idea what this is. All I know is that I love it.

As best as I can gather, this is the titular song made for the 2011 film SUPER SHARK. Directed by Fred Olen Ray from a script by Ray, Clyde McCoy, and Antonio Olivas, for some reason this tale of astonishing aquatic atrocities necessitated a funky theme. Enter “Super Shark” written and performed by Harvey Scales, a man who was known as Milwaukee’s “Godfather Of Soul.” I think the video is also the trailer for the film…but then it gives everything away. But that is fairly common with such type of B-level horror films these days that show all of the (…less than great) CG carnage.

But here’s the weirdest aspect of it all—the song slaps. It’s genuinely fun and makes me think that SUPER SHARK is told from the perspective of this, apparently super, shark as he tries to solve a crime or something. Basically THE GUY FROM HARLEM meets CRUEL JAWS and I am IN FOR THAT. Enjoy the smooth funk of “Super Shark” matched up to a bunch of people being flattened and eaten in spectacular fashion.
