Stay Warm With Fright-Rags’ Winter Gear

We are in the dead of winter right now and I know that—at least for myself—looking cute isn’t high on the priorities list. Hell, just making it from place to place without incurring frost bite is the goal most of the time. Sure, it’s only a few months out of the year, but it’s a horrible time to stay fashion forward.

One of my favorite things about fashion is being able to accentuate the perfect outfit with just the right accessories. How can a horror fan properly accessorize during this frigid time, though? It’s way too cold to rock just your favorite t-shirt, and even too chilly to be out in this icy weather in your favorite hoodie.

Yes, Mom: even more importantly than looking your best, it’s also imperative not to freeze to death. Depending on where you are, the smallest bit of exposed skin can become frost bitten and require a trip to the hospital’s emergency room. Yet another great reason to bundle up and accessorize as much as possible.

Fret not for Fright-Rags has all us horror fans covered with their latest in winter wear. These top-notch pieces just dropped and they are the answer for all your macabre polar survival fashion needs. Their 2023 winter accessories collection is to die for, or is that…not to die for? Either way, they are must haves for this season.

Let’s begin by talking about the noggin protection. Five new beanies have been released, four of which are “pom beanies.” I feel like the addition of the pom-poms on these are great wink to yesteryear and add a nice sense of whimsy.

The themes for these hats include: HALLOWEEN (1978), ELVIRA, KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE, and THE THING (1982). For me, the favorite out of these is THE THING design. Nothing screams winter quite like John Carpenter’s parasitic alien gorefest.

On the other hand, if you’re gonna rock a pom-pom, you might as well go full on quirkiness and go with KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE beanie. It’s so much fun, and so wacky with its pastel color scheme. Fatso’s grimacing smile stretched out across the old melon is so on brand.

Of course, if you are a tad more serious, and are not a fan of the pom-pom, there is one beanie for you. It’s based on the 1976 original Stephen King classic CARRIE. This hat features blood red stitching dripping from the top, as if pig’s blood was just doused on its wearer, and of course the iconic logo from the movie front and center.

It’s not only your head you gotta keep covered during these times, but also your sensitive neck meat. Yes, you need a scarf. Preferably a matching scarf. Why? Fashion!

Fright-Rags dropped six new winter scarfs—four of which match previously mentioned beanies. If you are going to get a matching set, as I would suggest, there are scarves based on KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE, HALLOWEEN (1978), THE THING, and ELVIRA.

For those of you that don’t care about a matching set (sad), there are two other choices—HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH and JAWS. Personally, SEASON OF THE WITCH is one of my all-time favorite films, and JAWS is much more of a summer theme. Personally, I’d have to go with that HALLOWEEN III scarf.

All products are officially licensed, so you don’t have to worry about supporting any 2nd rate bootleg crap. Also, everything is designed by artist Steve Roman, Jr.. Roman is known for his comic book style and has been a longtime collaborator with Fright-Rags. His unique brand is distinctive and I am here for it!

Gotta hand it to Fright-Rags: keeping us horror nerds warm and fashionable isn’t an easy task, but they make it look effortless. Go check out their officially licensed winter gear on their social media or, better yet, go straight to their website. Don’t forget to tell ‘em that Neon Splatter sent ya and, as always, remember to BUY OR DIE!
