Each week, Neon Splatter contributors offer up some viewing options found on streaming (U.S. unless otherwise noted). Movies, TV shows, specials, and more. New and old, from all sorts of genres and nations. Most importantly, we deem them worthy of your time.

Alexis M. Collazo: THE LAST KINGDOM: SEVEN KINGS MUST DIE (2023)

What It Is: In the wake of King Edward's death, Uhtred of Bebbanburg and his comrades adventure across a fractured kingdom in the hopes of uniting England at last.

Where It Is: Netflix

Why You Should Watch It: “I've been not so patiently awaiting the final chapter of Utred of Bebbanburg's story. Yeah, it's a little suspect that a warrior outlived two Kings, but you know TV. That's part of what makes is so great, viewers don't care about kings, we want to see the little guy succeed and be the real hero that we fantasize about becoming.”

Jeremy Lowe: NATURAL BORN KILLERS (1994)

What It Is: Two victims of traumatized childhoods become lovers and psychopathic serial murderers irresponsibly glorified by the mass media.

Where It Is: HBO Max

Why You Should Watch It: “Wow, talk about a film that was way ahead of its time. A film about criminals made into celebrities, and news being spun into ratings, resonates more now that it did when NATURAL BORN KILLERS was originally released. A top notch cast, along with a killer soundtrack, and mind blowing cinematography make this film a masterpiece in modern exploitation cinema. Such a smart well-created movie deserves to be seen by everyone. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Kiley Fox: SARAH & DUCK (2013-2017)

What It Is: Sarah, a polite and curious 7-year-old English girl, embarks on lots of little adventures with her best friend - a lovable duck named Duck.

Where It Is: Tubi

Why You Should Watch It: Sarah And Duck is a British children's TV show, but it's also one of my favorite television series of all time. The characters are warm, alive, and quirky. The world she lives in is magical but in a subdued and nonsense way where no one talks about it and just accepts that life is magic. The music and animation is soothing. It is the most calming and sweetest show that has ever existed. I strongly believe this. My kids loved it when they were little. We still watch it and continue to love it now as a family now, even though my oldest is 15. I also watch it alone when I need that warm soup feeling for my soul. It's timeless.”

Khayla McGowan: Cursed Films (2020 - 2022)

What It Is: Cursed Films is a five part documentary series which explores the myths and legends behind some of Hollywood's notoriously cursed horror film productions.

Where It Is: Shudder

Why You Should Watch It: “I love a good docuseries on movie productions and we've all heard the stories about how cursed some sets could be back in the day! I had an amazing time hearing them bust some myths, confirm others, and introduce even more reasons I'm glad I was born when I was and not a decade (or six) sooner.”

Rob Dean:  THE INFINITE MAN (2014)

What It Is: A man's attempt to construct the ultimate romantic weekend backfires when his quest for perfection traps his lover in an infinite loop.

Where It Is: Tubi

Why You Should Watch It: “Back before multiverses were all the rage as the reigning device/theme in sci-fi films, there was a period where time loops were everywhere. Stories where people repeated the same day over and over again petered out around the time of the pandemic/quarantine (hmmm…), but there are some excellent examples of that moment in sub-genre time. THE INFINITE MAN is an excellent movie that flew under the radar for many, combining romantic dramedy with the high concept to produce a heartfelt and hilarious hidden gem.”

Shafi Malik: ENCOUNTER (2021)

What It Is: Two brothers embark on a journey with their father, who is trying to protect them from an alien threat.

Where It Is: Amazon Prime Video

Why You Should Watch It: “Michael Pearce’s follow up to his critically-acclaimed debut, this film seems to have fallen under the radar unfortunately. But this melting pot of sci-fi thriller and family drama is an engaging watch and all the more compelling when Ahmed is on screen. The supporting cast are all strong too. All great stuff!”
