What It Is: Ten years before Kirk, Spock, and the Enterprise, the USS Discovery discovers new worlds and lifeforms as one Starfleet officer learns to understand all things alien.

Why You Should Watch It: “Being a huge Trekkie most of my life, I love the many calls back to previous series, including details from Federation history or randomly repeated elements. Like the often mentioned war with the Klingons, the mirror universe, Talos VI and the Talosians, section 31, of course time travel and an appearance from the Guardian of Forever.”
Jeremy Lowe: TILBURY (1987)
What It Is: In the year 1940, when there were British forces in Iceland, a country boy goes to Reyjavik to work for the army. He also wants to know what became of his childhood sweetheart. He soon discovers that she's having an affair with a British soldier. Moreover, he starts to suspect that the soldier, instead of being an officer and a gentleman, is in fact a very peculiar kind of monster.

Why You Should Watch It: “In the last couple years, folk horror has had a boom in popularity. Luckily, that means that the obscure Icelandic made-for-tv movie TILBURY is available to stream. It's gross, weird, and funny...which are a few of my favorite things. If the idea of green vomit spewing imp sounds like your idea of a good time, then check this out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!”
Kiley Fox: Danger 5 (2011 - 2015)
What It Is: Set in a bizarre, 1960s inspired version of World War II, action comedy series Danger 5 follows a team of five spies on a mission to kill Adolf Hitler. In each episode Danger 5 unravels another of Hitler's diabolical schemes as they travel across a myriad of exotic locations.

Why You Should Watch It: “This absurd dark comedy tickles all my fancies. You want old school spy/Avengers feels? Danger 5. You want witty irreverence? Danger 5. You want it to be sexy and exciting? Danger 5. This show has it all. If you like Doom Patrol but don't want to feel like emotional shit after every episode you watch, I suggest Danger 5 as the palate cleanser.”
Rob Dean: SOMETHING IN THE DIRT (2022)
What It Is: When neighbors John and Levi witness supernatural events in their Los Angeles apartment building, they realize documenting the paranormal could inject some fame and fortune into their wasted lives. An ever-deeper, darker rabbit hole, their friendship frays as they uncover the dangers of the phenomena, the city and each other.

Why You Should Watch It: “A hilarious and bizarre look into conspiracy theories, documentaries, true crime, ancient aliens, secret cults, and much more, the latest from Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead is an incredibly entertaining and wild ride. Even amidst the mocking and comedy, there remains a sincerity that sells the film. For while it is ostensibly about all manner of weird shit, it’s really just talking about the power and perils of friendship.”
