Each week, Neon Splatter contributors offer up some viewing options found on streaming (U.S. unless otherwise noted). Movies, TV shows, specials, and more. New and old, from all sorts of genres and nations. Most importantly, we deem them worthy of your time.

Khayla McGowan: THOR: RAGNAROK (2017)

What It Is: Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that puts him against The Incredible Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor's quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.

Where It Is: Disney+

Why You Should Watch It: “In preparation for rush buying tickets to THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER on Monday, I rewatched this one and loved the balance of humor and action! This was one of the first MCU films that genuinely made me laugh out loud and everyone should give this one a go as it’s easily one of the definitive MCU films—you don't even have to be a fan of superheroes to enjoy!”

Alexis M. Collazo: THE BABYSITTER (2017)

What It Is: Cole, an introverted 12-year-old boy who is always bullied by his next-door neighbour, secretly has a crush on his gorgeous babysitter, Bee. However, when Cole's parents leave for the weekend, unforeseen revelations will force the young teenager to take matters into his own hands and overcome his fears to become the neighborhood's hero. Of course, all that's needed is just a splash of blood.

Where It Is: Netflix

Why You Should Watch It: “I didn’t have very high expectations when I started the movie but was completely blown away. Once the action really gets going, it takes some insanely unexpected turns that constantly keeps you guessing. I love how hilarious, gruesome, and absolutely ridiculous it is.”

Jeremy Lowe: THE NIGHT SITTER (2018)

What It Is: A con artist poses as a babysitter to steal from a wealthy occult enthusiast. One of the kids she's sitting unwittingly summons a trio of witches known as The Three Mothers.

Where It Is: Tubi

Why You Should Watch It: THE NIGHT SITTER is a Christmas-themed horror comedy, a heist film, and encompasses the Argento Three Mothers mythos. It's DRAG ME TO HELL meets SUSPIRIA. THE NIGHT SITTER would make a perfect triple feature with KRAMPUS and BETTER WATCH OUT. I loved it! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!”

Rob Dean:  THE WAY OF THE GUN (2000)

What It Is: Two petty, violent criminals kidnap a woman who is being paid $1million to be a surrogate mother. As the baby is for a gangster, the pair's demand for money sees several henchmen and assorted other ruthless characters head after them to Mexico. Bullets rather than talking are always going to settle this one.

Where It Is: Tubi

Why You Should Watch It: “Before becoming the other godfather of the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE franchise, Christopher McQuarrie turned in this awesome neo-noir comedy. The original film was intended to be far more meta, but this hilarious crime thriller is still full of commentary on new action films vs the old, as well as how gangsters and crime itself is changing. Ryan Phillippe and Benicio Del Toro are perfect as scuzzy crooks and the film boasts one of the best car chases you’ll never see coming.”
