Each week, Neon Splatter contributors offer up some viewing options found on streaming (U.S. unless otherwise noted). Movies, TV shows, specials, and more. New and old, from all sorts of genres and nations. Most importantly, we deem them worthy of your time.

Kiley Fox: Aggretsuko (2018 - )

What It Is: Frustrated with her thankless office job, the 25-year-old red panda copes with her daily struggles by belting out heavy metal karaoke after work.

Where It Is: Netflix

Why You Should Watch It: “I have been rewatching this with my 8-year-old. While the content is directed at older folks, my little one still has a great time, and it opens the door to a lot of important conversations that would be awkward otherwise. This show has given us an entry point where we can laugh about serious issues and feelings.”

Alexis M. Collazo: THE CLEANSING HOUR (2019)

What It Is: Another successful "exorcism" streamed online - or so it seems. Can the "exorcist", producer and their team bring the ratings up? Ratings skyrocket, when a real demon gets involved.

Where It Is: Shudder

Why You Should Watch It: “A unique and modern take on possession, THE CLEANSING HOUR jumps into the action quickly and just keeps delivering. Besides some brutal kills, the best part is how damn satisfying it is to see the desire for notoriety turned completely against the characters.”

Rob Dean:  THE NEW MUTANTS (2020)

What It Is: Five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves.

Where It Is: HBO Max

Why You Should Watch It: “Admittedly, this one is a bit self-serving as I just recorded an episode of Scott Weinberg’s Overhated podcast about it. THE NEW MUTANTS is not a masterpiece, but it certainly isn’t the crime against cinema that some people wish you to think. Superhero comic book movie with large dollops of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3: DREAM WARRIORS and THE BREAKFAST CLUB, there’s more good than bad in this film and worth judging for yourself.”
