Sometimes shorts can be deceptively simple with their premise but shine in execution. BIG TAKE, a short by writer/director/editor Alex Brooks, is a very basic plot but thanks to its 16mm camera, strong (silent) performances, and cool direction, it ends up being very effective.

The plot summary:

While on the run, two criminals accidentally pick the same hiding spot and eavesdrop on their pursuers.
