Brandi Carlile, “Uninvited” (Newport Folk Fest 2026)

A good musical cover is a wonderful thing. It makes you reassess and reengage with the original version while also bringing something new to the table that makes it stand on its own. Recently, Brandi Carlile has been performing Alanis Morissette’s “Uninvited” while on tour. This recent recording from the 2026 Newport Folk Fest shows how terrific and beautiful her take is while harkening back to what makes the O.G. such a powerful tune in its own right.
