CONCLAVE Live Read

Sure it was released in October of last year, but the world still has CONCLAVE-fever! Aided by the real life story unfolding of an actual papal conclave currently happening, director Edward Berger’s outstanding film is massive now on Amazon Prime. Written by Peter Straughan (from the book by Robert Harris), it’s an excellent movie that was certainly worthy of its many awards nominations and victories, with tremendous writing, pitch perfect acting, amazing costuming, and terrific cinematography.

Now there’s another way to experience CONCLAVE…minus the costuming and cinematography, but with still with great writing and performances! On February 10, 2025—in the lead up to the Oscars—Berger and Straughan led a live table read of the script with a murderers’ row of talent in all of the roles:

Novak (The Office), Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso), Lionel Boyce (The Bear), Cooper Koch (Monsters), Josh Gad (Book of Mormon), Jason Mantzoukas (Big Mouth), Patton Oswalt (Young Adult) and Eugenio Derbez (CODA), along with the film’s Golden Globe-winning screenwriter Peter Straughan as narrator.

It’s a great reimagining of the text and a delightful opportunity to revisit CONCLAVE. Enoy!
