Paul Scheer and Taylor’s Dads

Taylor Swift gets a lot of shit. I think a lot of it is deserved but that’s another rant for another day. However, one thing that I’ve learned in this life is that every artist can lift up and bring people together in unexpected ways. During her Eras Tour, there was this phenomenon where parents would be waiting outside the arenas for their kids to finish enjoying the concert. When the tour came to Los Angeles, Paul Scheer grabbed a camera crew and headed down to talk to these Swiftie Dads.

It’s clear he thought it would just be funny (which it is), the juxtaposition of older fathers milling about without much connection to what’s going on around them. But Scheer discovered something much more emotional and heartfelt as these parents see how much positivity and love and hope the event inspires in their kids and the ways these moments bonds them with each other.

It is sweet, it is comical, and it shows that even if you don’t get/like something, it can still inspire something really special.
