IT’S NOT THAT SERIOUS (2025)

Maybe it’s because I’m so bad at it, but dancing is always enchanting and entrancing to me. Especially when done as well and as creatively as in this 2025 short film, IT’S NOT THAT SERIOUS. From director/choreographer Ricky Ubeda, the less-than-four-minutes short is a great exercise in movement of the body and camera with lots of brilliant transitions happening on the dance floor. The troupe of dancers go through Ubeda’s motions to “Sympathy” by Vampire Weekend and it’s a truly fun and inspired bit of musical filmmaking.
