PROM CAR ‘91 (2022)

PROM CAR ‘91 was a delightful surprise to watch - not just for its various twists and turns, and not just for its mash-up of genres, but also for some impressive bits of stunt work and cinematography. Written and directed by Brian Otting, the short film is a crossbreed of horror, action, and comedy with just enough heart to make it engaging while avoiding a bunch of unnecessary nostalgic traps.

The plot summary is:

Prom Night, 1991. Carrie and Don plan to have sex for the first time in the back of Don’s dad’s minivan. But when they witness a murder outside the car, their night takes a sharp turn.

It’s a fun 10 minutes that moves pretty fast and well worth checking out.
