THE TRAVELER & THE TROLL (2025)

An excellent short, writer/director Adam Murray’s THE TRAVELER & THE TROLL harkens back to the vast imagination and entertainment of The Jim Henson Hour (specifically The Storyteller parts) and LABYRINTH. With what I’m guessing is limited resources, Murray and company are able to quickly establish a world, a mood, and a vibe that increasingly delights as it continues.

The plot summary:

A Traveler stops to rest in a clearing of a long haunted forest. They soon learn they are not alone and have stumbled upon the lair of a terrifying troll. To survive the night. Much to the Troll’s surprise, the Traveler is more of an adversary than the Troll ever could have expected.

The hilarious fantasy stars Erika Ishii as The Traveler and Dave Child as the voice of The Troll (with puppeteering of The Troll handled by Chelsea Pickens Tonick and Brittaney Talbot).
