1988’s AKIRA was a groundbreaking movie on so many fronts that of course filmmakers would reference it in their own works years later. This 2021 compilation by Badspler showcases many of those winks (particularly in animation).

Also, before you wonder—this video came out months before NOPE did, so Keke Palmer’s dope bike slide in that film is not included.
