TO BROOKLYN AND BACK (2025)

Sometimes films don’t have to be long to make a large impact. From writer/director Samba, TO BROOKLYN AND BACK is a beautiful short that captures a moment, a feeling, a fleeting instance of something momentous. According to the filmmaker,

TO BROOKLYN AND BACK began as a poem I wrote while living in Clinton Hill this summer, searching for the right way to express a love that felt larger than the moment it lived in. It became a short visual piece about memory, and the imprint people leave on us.

The Director of Photography is Sachi Bahra, with voiceover performed by A’Raelle Flynn-Bolden. The short also features Victoria Reath, Adol Akuei, Ariana Dickenson, and Isaiah Day. At just three minutes, it’s well worth your time to see something so sensuously made and expertly depicted.
