Rob Dean: CAMERON’S CLOSET (1988)
What It Is: A young and lonely boy named Cameron has telekinetic powers with which his father experiments. The young boy's loneliness is the cause of a strange spell to be cast. A demon from hell is unleashed and tries to take over the boy's soul. A delusional police officer and his new psychiatrist are the only ones able to help the child after his father and mother's boyfriend are killed. The demon lives in the boy's closet and in a part of the mind that can only be reached by entering it.

Why You Should Watch It: “Another bizarre late ‘80s/early ‘90s creature feature that involves a kitchen sink approach to scares and more. Similar to THE BRAIN and THE BONEYARD in its ‘I guess this works, too?’ approach resulting in a ton of weird tangents and creepy moments.”
Shafi Malik: TUMBBAD (2018)
What It Is: In the rural village of Tumbbad, a decaying castle hides an immeasurable ancestral fortune guarded by something ancient, sinister, and monstrous. Vinayak thinks he can control it, but how long will it be until his own greed destroys everything he’s built?

Why You Should Watch It: “You thought it was just THE DESCENT that could make you scared of caves?? This Hindi frightener really is an underrated gem and, in a just world, should have garnered a cult reputation with the rest of the modern horror classics. It maintains a sense of dread in its atmosphere and it's really hard to shake off even after the end credits!”
Khayla McGowan: [REC] (2007)
What It Is: A television reporter and cameraman follow emergency workers into a dark apartment building and are quickly locked inside with something terrifying.

Why You Should Watch It: “Honestly, watch this entire movie series (excluding the American remake)! The first two especially are so innovative and literally shook me to the point where not much has met since. Yes, it isn't in English. Yes, that's partly what makes it THAT much better.”
Alexis M. Collazo: OLD PEOPLE (2022)
What It Is: A woman travels home with her two kids for her sister's wedding but finds herself defending her family against blood-seeking pensioners.

Why You Should Watch It: “Still not completely sure if I really liked this movie but it did scare the hell out of me. It's twice as terrifying playing on the fear of getting old and the actual fear of old people.”
Jeremy Lowe: GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE BLOOD (2019)
What It Is: When Jessica's accepted by a trio of fun loving vampires, she finds herself thrust into a lifestyle full of long nights, sex-crazed bikers, and blood suckin'.

Why You Should Watch It: “If, like myself, you consider yourself an aficionado of exploitation cinema, then you need to check out GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE BLOOD. Combining the girl gang outrageousness of Russ Meyer's FASTER PUSSYCAT KILL, KILL with the bonkers gore of Herschell Gordon Lewis' BLOOD FEAST then adding in a heaping helping of camp over acting, a la John Waters' FEMALE TROUBLE and you'll get this no budget video nasty. Boobs, blood, and bufoonery...who could ask for anything more! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!”
