The Surprising Origins of the “Howie Scream”
We’re well familiar with the “Wilhelm Scream” — that oft used sound effect in films and TV of a high pitched yell. But chances are you’re also pretty used to hearing the “Howie Scream” too, so named after a scene from 1996’s BROKEN ARROW in which a character (played by Howie Long) plunges to his death. The channel dives into the sound clip’s origins and its permutations over the years as well as some of its more (in)famous uses.
