Each week, Neon Splatter contributors offer up some viewing options found on streaming (U.S. unless otherwise noted). Movies, TV shows, specials, and more. New and old, from all sorts of genres and nations. Most importantly, we deem them worthy of your time.

Kiley Fox: IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT (1934)

What It Is: Ellie Andrews has just tied the knot with society aviator King Westley when she is whisked away to her father's yacht and out of King's clutches. Ellie jumps ship and eventually winds up on a bus headed back to her husband. Reluctantly she must accept the help of out-of- work reporter Peter Warne. Actually, Warne doesn't give her any choice: either she sticks with him until he gets her back to her husband, or he'll blow the whistle on Ellie to her father. Either way, Peter gets what (he thinks!) he wants .... a really juicy newspaper story.

Where It Is: Tubi

Why You Should Watch It: “After seeing many of my friends talk lovingly about this one, I was happy to see it land on Tubi. After finally watching it, I can say it's funny, sweet, and a well-rounded popcorn flick to feel good about.”

Shafi Malik: SUAT YouTube Channel (2017 - )

What It Is: “Just trying to make the world dance...”

Where It Is: YouTube

Why You Should Watch It: “I haven't found a cure for my depression but Suat’s videos really help. I know his videos are an acquired taste (especially if you're not into House music), but there's something about it that puts a big smile on my face. Seeing him interact with regular folk in their everyday lives, being chased by security and police; and even going on hand gliding and canoeing adventures, all while maintaining a funky mix is just audio-visual dopamine! Anyway, above is a link to a video of Suat visiting my home town…”

Jeremy Lowe: THE BARN (2016)

What It Is: It's Halloween 1989, best friends Sam and Josh are trying to enjoy what's left of their final Devil's Night before graduating high school. But trouble arises when the two pals and a group of friends take a detour on their way to a rock concert, finding an old abandoned barn and awakening the evil inside. Now it's up to Sam and Josh to find a way to protect their friends and defeat the creatures that lurk within "The Barn".

Where It Is: Tubi

Why You Should Watch It: “There is nothing I love more than an independent horror movie with so much heart and soul that it’s an instant classic. THE BARN is all of this and takes place entirely on Halloween. Justin M. Seaman hit all the right notes with his feature directorial debut, and Zane Hershberger’s cinematography is so spot on. Between the campy special effects, the ‘80s rock soundtrack, and cameos from Ari Lehman (FRIDAY THE 13TH) and Linnea Quigley (NIGHT OF THE DEMONS), THE BARN is a whole lot of retro Halloween fun! Highly recommended!”

Rob Dean:  THE COLLECTION (2012)

What It Is: Arkin escapes with his life from the vicious grips of "The Collector" during an entrapment party where he adds beautiful Elena to his "Collection." Instead of recovering from the trauma, Arkin is suddenly abducted from the hospital by mercenaries hired by Elena's wealthy father. Arkin is blackmailed to team up with the mercenaries and track down The Collector's booby trapped warehouse and save Elena.

Where It Is: Hulu

Why You Should Watch It: “The first film in this duology, THE COLLECTOR, is a pretty bad attempt at ripping off SAW by having thieves break into a killer trapster’s house. Yeesh. But this sequel? It’s incredible! The opening set piece establishes the tone for unbelievable gore and reality-defying mechanisms. This is basically the ALIENS version of a sequel, where it suddenly becomes a lot more action-oriented and features a higher body count and more insanity.”
