THIS SATURDAY—OCTOBER 1 2022

Reminder that tomorrow night is our latest watch party. October 1, 2022, we are watching 1981’s THE PIT, a truly bonkers Canadian horror-ish movie, which is available for free on Kino Cult’s YouTube Channel. Follow along on Twitter with hashtag #PitWatch.

Check out THIS TWEET for how to win a poster for THE PIT from us (courtesy of Kino Cult).

Alexis M. Collazo: THE NIGHT CREW (2015)

What It Is: A group of hard-up bounty hunters must survive the night in a desert motel against a horde of savage cartel killers as they realize their fugitive, a mysterious Chinese woman, is much more than she lets on.

Where It Is: Amazon Prime Video, Tubi, Vudu

Why You Should Watch It: “Danny Trejo plays the big bad and Jason Mewes cameos as a stoner security guard. It's a pretty basic, fun to watch action movie that ticks most of the right boxes—fighting, explosions, gunshots, a love triangle—but still has a few little surprises.”

Khayla McGowan: HELLRAISER (1987)

What It Is: A woman discovers the newly resurrected, partially formed, body of her brother-in-law. She starts killing for him to revitalize his body so he can escape the demonic beings that are pursuing him after he escaped their sadistic underworld.

Where It Is: Amazon Prime Video, Tubi, Shudder

Why You Should Watch It: “They have such sights to show you in this delightfully-paced classic! With the new remake coming to Hulu next week (October 4), now is the perfect time for everyone to revisit one of my favorite comfort horror movies. Clive Barker for the win!”

Jeremy Lowe: ANTLERS (2021)

What It Is: In an isolated Oregon town, a middle-school teacher and her sheriff brother become embroiled with her enigmatic student, whose dark secrets lead to terrifying encounters with an ancestral creature.

Where It Is: HBO Max

Why You Should Watch It: “The new wave of folk horror films is top notch, and ANTLERS is head and shoulders above the rest. What makes it stand out is its incredible cinematography—nobody does a dark and brooding atmosphere quite like Florian Hoffmeister. Also doesn't hurt that it is produced by the king of mythical monsters, Guillermo del Toro. Great scares, great story, cool effects...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!”
